HAPPIEST MEMORY

Her happiest memory is when she took part in the annual Chinese New Year reunion dinner at her aunt's house at the age of nine. Many of her relatives that time were able to make it despite their busy schedules and back-breaking work, in contrast to the previous annual gatherings; during that period, she received her two most precious gifts. Her uncle, a merchant, gave her an expensive jade bracelet (for good luck and prosperity) and her mother bought her two matching hairclips that resembled pink roses.

WORST MEMORY

Her father became temporarily obsessed with gambling; naturally, it affected the entire family as he became unconcerned about earning for his family, as well as his wife and daughter's well-being. It was only until her grandfather, notorious for his strictness and harsh punishments, stepped in, that his addiction finally ceased.
